One of my greatest joys is teaching at the Friday Harbor Laboratories. Each spring I teach the Invertebrate Zoology portion of the “Zoobot” course, an integrated marine biology course for undergraduates that is half invertebrates and half marine plants. An annual highlight is a trip to Botanical Beach on the outer coast of Vancouver Island. I also taught for many years during the summer at the Shoals Marine Lab off the coast of Maine.
